Cherry Almond Smoothie
This one rides the line between beverage and food but I really wanted to document this recipe. I bought a cookbook when I got diagnosed with Lyme disease. I decided to follow my Rhumatologist's advice on avoiding gluten, processed foods, and processed sugar rather than the extreems this cookbook suggested. But this recipe from the cookbook as become one of my favorite recipes in general. I'm not sure if vanilla and almond extract are "processed foods" or not, and plain yogurt is considered a minimally processed food and provides some protein and fills me up more than the ice they suggested, so I consider this to be within my diet because if I stuck quite literally to that diet I'd have a hard time following it. Anyways, this smoothie is delicious and I'll keep making it long after my diet is over. Makes 1 smoothie.
