Hot Spiced Mulled Cider


 

Make your apple cider extra flavorful. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 large orange cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 3 cinnamon sticks 
  • 4 whole star anise
  • 1 TBSP whole cloves
  • 1 inch of ginger root, sliced
  • Booze optional (brandy or spiced rum)

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large pot.  Bring to a boil, then simmer for a total of 2-3 hours.  Would probably also work well in a slow cooker, I would guess about 5-6 hours on low, but I haven't yet tried it. 
  2. Add alcohol to your individual tastes if you should choose.
