Hibiscus, Basil, and Lemongrass Iced Tea
This was my first time making an iced tea not from tea bags. It's refreshing, flavorful, and very different from other iced teas I've had.
Ingredients:
- 7 cups water
- 1 lemongrass stalk thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 3/4 cup loosely packed basil leaves (more for garnish if you like)
- 1/4 cup lime juice
Instructions:
- Bring the water to boil in a medium to large pot.
- Remove from heat and add lemongrass, honey, hibiscus, and basil.
- Let steep for 20 min.
- Strain into a pitcher. Press with spoon to get all juice. Discard used lemongrass, hibiscus, and basil.
- Let cool and add lime juice.
- Refrigerate
- Serve over ice and with basil if desired.
*I forgot to add the lime juice at first. It tasted well with and without the lime juice.
