Cranberry Pomegranate Margarita
This originally was quite strong, so I'm working on altering the amounts. Great base to start alterations to though! What's listed currently is the original - my plan is to try 1/2 cup tequila instead of 3/4 cup. That or upping the juices to 3/4 cup.
Makes 3-4
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup silver tequila (1/4)
- 1/3 cup orange liqueur (I used triple sec) 1 oz
- 1/2 cup pomegranate juice same
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice 1/4
- 1/4 cup lime juice 1 oz
- 1 ounce agave nectar (optional and I didn't use as I wasn't looking for a sweet beverage)
- Club soda to taste (was also listed as optional on the original recipe - but we did use)
- Optional garnishes: sugar and salt rim, pomegranate arils, lime wedges.
Instructions:
- Combine tequila, liqueur, and juices (and nectar if using it) with ice in a shaker and shake till chilled.
- Rim glasses if choosing to do so, and add ice to glasses
- Pour evenly between glasses.
- Optionally top with club soda if desired. I found club soda to be an odd choice for a margarita, but since it was so strong, we all added the club soda to ours, and it was actually quite delightful.
