Spanish Style Sangria
Made for a summer backyard BBQ. Other recipes of Sangria I have made before made a ton, this only made enough for 3-4 people to have 1 serving. The book said it made 12 drinks. I made it and then was very disappointed about the amount (hadn't really thought through how much of each ingredient was going in) and then realized it was twelve 3oz servings. Who only drinks 3oz of sangria?!?!?! I suggest doubling or even tripling based on the amount of people you have coming.
Makes 3-4 servings.
Ingredients:
- 25ml (3/4oz) Spanish Brandy
- One 750ml bottle of fruity red wine (I used Pino Noir)
- 45ml (1 1/2 oz) simple syrup
- 45ml (1 1/2 oz) orange flavored liqueur such as curacao, triple sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier (I used triple sec)
- 1.5 TBPS Lemon juice (or half a lemon, fresh squeezed)
- 1/3 cup orange juice (or half a orange, fresh squeezed)
- Optional Garnishes: mint sprigs, orange and lemon cut into half moons.
Instructions:
- Mix all the non-garnish ingredients in a pitcher.
- Pour into glasses over ice.
- Garnish as desired.
