Strawberry Basil Vodka Cocktail

 


When it's 70 degrees in November and you've got leftover basil from cooking, this hits the spot. 

Ingredients

  • 1 TBSP lemon juice
  • 1 and 1/2 TBSP simple syrup
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • 1 TBSP elderflower liquor like St. Germaine 
  • 3 TBSP Prosecco or similar sparkling wine
  • 6 basil leaves
  • 4 strawberries (greens removed)

Instructions

  1. Put strawberries, basil, simple syrup and lemon juice in cocktail shaker.  Muddle.
  2. Add vodka, elderflower liquor, and ice to shaker.  Shake.
  3. Strain into glass (with or without ice, your choice).
  4. Top with Prosecco
*Note: I bought mini bottles of Prosecco, so much easier when making cocktails for one.
